Module 3 Of 4
Setting Yourself Up for Success
The three pillars to get right from the beginning: your digital presence, your sales and your offer.
Setting Yourself Up for Success
If you’re already digitally established, some of this may already be in place. You still need to watch the entire module, identify any gaps and address them. Do not skip anything covered here.
There are three pillars we need to get right from the beginning: Digital Presence, Sales and Offer. We handle a substantial amount for you and provide the systems, training and resources to make the rest easier. However, some parts require your involvement.
This module covers the foundations. Get these into solid shape first — the deeper strategies for building your brand and scaling the business are covered in the Business Scaling Program.
Pillar 1 — Digital Presence
When someone sees your ad and considers spending money on their vehicle, they check you out. Your website, Google profile and social media either give them reasons to trust you or reasons to look elsewhere.
A weak digital presence can lose the enquiry before it is ever submitted. Even when someone does enquire, what they find afterwards affects their willingness to proceed and the price they’re prepared to pay.
Our website and managed Google/SEO services apply to clients who have opted into the Website + Google + SEO upgrade. Otherwise, these foundations need to be maintained by you or your existing provider.
Before You Start: Capture Professional Content
Everything in this section depends on having quality photos and videos of your work, setup and brand.
Use a high-quality phone or invest a few hundred dollars in a one-time session with a local photographer or content agency. Organise a dedicated shoot around a few bookings and capture:
Finished vehicles:
your main focus. Prioritise clean, well-lit shots, preferably of higher-end cars.Your process:
photos and videos of the work being completed, with you involved where possible.Your business:
the workspace, equipment, you and your team.
Website — We Handle It
You need a high-trust website from day one.
When leads look you up, they need to see a professional business they feel confident trusting with their vehicle. An outdated or poorly presented website creates doubt before you even speak — regardless of how good your work actually is.
Your website should showcase your services, finished work, reviews, process and the people behind the business, with a clean, mobile-friendly layout and an easy way to enquire. This builds confidence before the sales conversation, gives prospects reasons to choose you beyond price and makes closing at premium prices easier.
Beyond Building Trust
Our custom-coded website and ongoing SEO service also provide:
- More enquiries from your existing traffic — conversion-focused copy, page structure and calls to action turn visitors into opportunities.
- An additional lead source through SEO — attract people actively searching Google for your services. They already want the service, research your business and then enquire.
- CRM + Meta integration — enquiries enter your pipeline, while eligible visitors who leave without enquiring can be retargeted through your ads.
We handle the build, hosting and ongoing management for clients who have opted into Website + Google + SEO.
Google Business Profile — Shared Responsibility
Your Google Business Profile is where most prospects go to verify that you’re a legitimate locla service business worth trusting. A well-presented profile backed by strong customer reviews gives them confidence before you ever speak.
We handle the setup and optimisation.
This covers your business information, categories, services, service areas, hours, website links and presentation. We also work on keeping your business information consistent across the wider web so your website, Google profile and external listings support one another.
You handle generating reviews.
We can optimise the profile, but you need to deliver the customer experience and collect the proof that belongs on it. Review collection needs to be one of your highest priorities until you have at least 150 genuine five-star reviews. For a newer business, 30 reviews is the minimum to get started. Aim to get people to include photos with as many as possible.
Aim to maintain a five-star rating through excellent workmanship, communication and customer care. Take problems seriously and resolve them quickly. You cannot afford to treat your reputation as an afterthought and get a bad review — the customer is always right.
- Start with the customers you already have.
- Message every past customer, including friends and family whose vehicles you have worked on.
- Make leaving a review as easy as possible.
- Prepare a pre-written review (they can alter), the link to your page, relevant photos and a brief explanation of how much it helps you.
- A short-term incentive to build momentum (initially).
- During the initial push to 150 reviews, we recommend incentivising customers at drop off/pick up. When processing the invoice, mention you’ll take $100 off if the customer leaves a good review with photos, right then and there. You sacrifice some margin on that booking, but the review remains part of the credibility you’re building for future customers. This is not something you need to keep doing forever.
On the SMS-enabled system, automated Google review requests are sent when you move a lead to “💵 Job Completed”. Keep your pipeline updated so this happens correctly.
Social Media — You Handle It
Your Instagram and Facebook pages need to look like an active, professional business. We cannot handle this for you because we’re not following you around taking photo’s everyday, you are. We also can’t manufacture your workmanship, personality or customer relationships — this is the part you need to bring. However we guide you every step of the way.
Both platforms matter. Everything below applies to each.
Profile Picture and Username
Use your business logo as the profile picture, not a car. Keep your username clean and recognisable, ideally matching your business name.
Bio Structure
- 📍 Location — e.g. St Kilda, Melbourne (MANDATORY)
- Services — e.g. Ceramic Coating | Detailing | PPF
- Social proof — e.g. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 147 Verified 5-Star Google Reviews
- Call to action — e.g. Tap Below for a Free Quote
- Website link
- Followers
Work towards a minimum of 500 genuine followers, preferably more. Ask friends, family and past customers to follow, promote the page through your personal account, and follow local and automotive accounts likely to follow back.
If you're struggling to get there, reach out to us — we can move that number quickly.
- Posts and Content
Have at least 20 professional posts on your main grid before launch, then keep building until you have 50 or more quality posts. Prioritise finished vehicles, your process, customer results, your workspace and the people behind the business.
Do not post childish edits, messy graphics or low-quality content that makes the business look less credible. You are presenting a professional service that people will trust with their vehicles.
Highlights
Create organised highlights for Ceramic Coating, PPF, Services, Team, Specials and Reviews, where relevant. Use clean cover images — professional car photos or simple branded graphics work well.
Keep Both Platforms Active
Use Instagram’s sharing options to publish suitable content to Facebook as well. This helps keep both pages active without doubling the work.
Pillar 2 — Sales
Sales is an art and one of the most valuable skills you can develop as a business owner. You can have strong advertising and an excellent digital presence, but if you can’t re-enforce that trust over the phone and turn conversations into bookings you’re not going to get far.
Being comfortable with referrals or organic enquiries does not automatically mean you’re strong at sales. Those prospects may already know they want you. Meta enquiries often require more discovery, explanation, objection handling and follow-up before they commit.
Your job is not simply to answer questions and give a price. It is to lead the conversation, understand what the customer wants, connect your service to that outcome, communicate the value, handle objections and secure a clear next step on the call. Everything off call such as follow-up, speed to lead and pipeline organisation are part of that process too.
Option 1 — Develop Your Sales Skills
You have 2 core resources provided to you.
Sales Academy
The Sales Academy contains approximately one hour of focused training. That is intentional. This is not a massive course you need to tackle over several months while opportunities go to waste. We focus on what actually moves the needle: discovery, communicating value, presenting your offer, handling objections, closing and following up.
You can get through the entire academy quickly, understand the framework and start applying it immediately. But one hour of footage does not mean one hour of learning. Watching it once is not enough.
Go through it repeatedly. Apply the skills and tactics to your calls, identify where you struggled, then revisit the relevant training. The aim is to understand the process well enough to use it naturally, rather than simply remember what was said in a video.
AI Sales Coach
On top of the training, you have a deeply trained sales AI that understands the sales process and the psychology behind it from beginning to end, specifically within the detailing industry.
The Sales Academy gives you the foundation. The AI Sales Coach helps you practise it, understand your mistakes and work through the real situations you encounter. Use it to:
- Run realistic role-plays.
- Practise complete calls or specific situations, with the AI acting as the prospect and giving feedback on your approach.
- Review and break down your calls.
- Share a call transcript to identify missed questions, weak explanations, buying signals and opportunities to close.
- Practise objection handling.
- Work through “I need to think about it”, cheaper competing quotes, price resistance and other objections you’re struggling with.
- Answer questions and explain the psychology.
- Understand why a tactic works, where a conversation went off track and how to approach it differently next time.
- Create personalised study resources.
- Ask for call frameworks, objection responses, practice exercises and reference sheets based on the areas you need to improve.
Do not treat it as something you open once and forget about. Bring it difficult conversations, practise before calls and use it to review what happened afterwards.
Start the Sales Academy as soon as you’re set up in the system. Study the framework, practise with the AI, apply it to real calls and repeat.
Do not wait until you’ve lost weeks of opportunities to take sales seriously.
Option 2 — Outsource Your Sales
If you have a foreign accent that creates communication friction, aren’t confident on the phone, struggle with follow-up or simply don’t want to handle sales yourself, consider outsourcing from day one.
Through our Appointment Setter Hiring Support optional upgrade, we help you hire and onboard a commission-based sales representative who calls your leads, follows up and handles bookings.
Their entire role is sales. They’re a professional in the field who has mastered the art of sales and understands human psychology, they are not trying to fit calls between polishing a car and serving customers. That dedicated focus makes this exceptionally valuable when sales is currently holding the business back.
You literally just pay an agreed commission on booked work, meaning there’s no additional cost for you. There’s a whole industry for this exact role, it’s called B2C (business to consumer) appointment setting. The full details are in Optional Upgrades.
Either learn the skill properly or put someone capable in the role.
Leaving sales poorly handled is not a third option.
Pillar 3 — Offer
Your offer is just as important as your digital presence and sales ability — especially when those other two areas are still developing.
Two businesses can have similar reviews, presentation and sales skills. The difference that wins the customer may simply be which offer feels more compelling.
There are two main approaches.
Set-Price Offers
The advertisement shows a clear package and price upfront.
The advantage is that the lead has already seen and psychologically accepted the price as a good deal before enquiring. If you get to leads quick and give them the exact advertised offer (no upselling or complexity), explain it clearly, follow up properly and you have a straightforward opportunity to secure the booking.
The trade-off is that we’re capped on how high we can go as higher advertised prices can reduce enquiry volume. People make a price judgement before you have had the opportunity to fully explain your value. A sales conversation gives you more room to establish that value before presenting a higher price.
If you’re starting out, a reasonable lower set-priced package can be the right way to build momentum as it means higher conversion rates.
Offers Without a Fixed Price
The advertisement leads with a benefit or incentive rather than the full package price — for example, free interior protection or $500 off a package.
This gives you room to discuss the vehicle, explain your process, establish the value and then present the price.
It suits businesses with stronger credibility, better sales skills and consistent follow-up. The approach is to generate substantial enquiry volume, work that volume properly and close suitable customers at stronger prices.
The conversion rate may be lower, but the aim is to make the higher-value bookings worthwhile. This is harder to execute when you have limited customer proof and aren’t yet confident selling.
Match Your Pricing to Your Current Position
If your sales ability and digital presence are weak, you may need to accept lower prices for the time being — even if you believe your workmanship is worth more.
Your skill with a car is not the issue.
The issue is whether a stranger can see, understand and trust that value before paying for it.
Swallow your ego, take the jobs at a price that still makes commercial sense, then use them to build reviews, content, followers, customer relationships and sales experience. Those jobs create the credibility that helps you command more later.
You cannot expect established-operator prices while presenting and selling like a business that has not yet earned that position.
Bringing It All Together
We generate the leads and provide the advertising, AI, software, training and resources that make these three pillars easier to execute. We also handle much of the technical digital presence work.
But the full system works through all three.
- Digital Presence — Give People Reasons to Trust You
- A strong digital presence gives people the confidence to enquire and reinforces that confidence when they research you afterwards. Improving it helps generate more enquiries and convert more of the ones you already receive.
- Sales — Turn Interest Into Commitment
- Take people through a proper process, communicate value, handle objections and follow up — or have a dedicated salesperson doing it. Strong lead flow cannot compensate for opportunities being consistently mishandled.
- Offer — Give People a Compelling Reason to Proceed
- Your offer needs to make sense for your market and the level of credibility and sales ability you currently have. We work with you to get this right, then adjust as the business develops.
The result we’re working towards is simple:
More enquiries × a stronger conversion rate = more bookings.
Before moving on, get your digital foundations organised, start collecting reviews, commit to learning or outsourcing sales, and make sure you understand the offer we’re taking to market.
These are not extras around the system — they determine how much you get out of it.
One Module To Go
These foundations take real work outside this page. Next is the roadmap, so you can see where all of it leads.
